Morehouse College to host NASAP Mid-Year Conference on
Leadership and Success Skills in Higher Education for African American Males
and Students of Color

Morehouse College, a leading institution for African American men and men of color in Atlanta, Georgia will host the 2009 NASAP Mid-Year Conference, June 26, 2009. The NASAP one-day professional conference, hosted by Morehouse College’s Division of Student Services, will focus on The Success of African American Males in Leadership and in Higher Education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other university campuses. Programs will include workshops for student affairs, higher education professionals, and other campus administrators.

This conference will provide theoretical and practical strategies to foster more
developmental and supportive environments that both embrace and celebrate the various aspects of leadership and academic success on HBCU and other university campuses. In particular, the uniqueness of Black leadership issues and success skills on our campuses and their impact on student affairs professionals will be explored by emphasizing a range of targeted social identities including race, ethnicity, culture, class, sexual orientation and religion.

All workshops, sessions and keynotes have been designed for the day at the NASAP Mid-Year Conference to enhance skills, interests and success of professionals specifically those working with students of color on their respective campuses across the country.
