Director of Civic Engagement
Alfred, NY
Under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Director of Civic Engagement
is responsible for coordination of a number of civic engagement and student leadership programs
for the campus community. The Director plays a central role in promoting the College's "student
leadership through civic engagement" initiatives; an approach to student learning that accelerates
students' commitment to citizenship, advocacy and mastering change in the world.
and program evaluation for the following areas: civic engagement and community service; peer
leadership advising, student leadership programming, and the effective infusion of these activities
into the new Student Leadership Center. This position is expected to develop activities that
expose our students to active involvement in civic, leadership, social, cultural, intellectual,
recreational, and governance programs that complement our academic mission in the preparation
of good citizens and future leaders.
Education Administration, Leadership Studies or related field in civic engagement/social
justice is required.
