The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) invites applications and nominations for the position
of Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs. One of four campuses comprising
the University of Nebraska (NU) System, UNO is located in the heart of Nebraska's largest
metropolitan area. UNO is Nebraska's metropolitan university and as such, is committed to
the educational, research, and cultural development of its urban community.

The position of Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs is expected to provide
strong intellectual leadership with respect to excellence in teaching, scholarship, creative work,
and public service, and is responsible for the administration of all academic and student services
policies and programs. The successful candidate must work effectively with the Chancellor, the
Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance, NU Central Administration and Provost, associate
and assistant vice chancellors, academic deans, faculty, students, staff, alumni and community
to formulate and implement academic plans and strategies.

Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor are four Associate Vice Chancellors (Research, Academic
Affairs, Student Affairs, and Technology), and the Deans of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences;
Business Administration; Education; Communication, Fine Arts and Media; Information Science
and Technology; Public Affairs and Community Service; International Studies; Graduate Studies;
and the Library. The university has a strong commitment to achieving diversity among administrators,

Qualifications include an earned doctorate or other terminal degree, or equivalent academic
accomplishment; a record of academic achievement warranting the rank of professor; a commitment
to the role of faculty in governance; a commitment to excellence in student learning and positive
college life experiences, including service learning; a record of administrative accomplishment;
experience working with national organizations and initiatives; a commitment to collaboration
with the community; urban/ metropolitan university experience; and the ability to work effectively
with faculty, administration, staff, and students in a collegial environment.
